Create a Sun Spinner paper decoration that spins in the breeze. This is a fun Summer papercraft for kids with an added STEM element.
The sun design can be used as a base for pattern art by adding doodle art designs to the line art sections, and also works as a straight colouring project.
Hang your finished craft somewhere it can catch a breeze to watch it twirl.
Cardstock is recommended but paper also works. You will also need some pony beads for weight.
Age suggestion: 8+
This digital download product includes:
- The sun spinner decoration template
- Printable instructions and photographs

The directions for the spirals were not straight forward.Although it told you how to affix part 1 to 2 and there were tabs, there was no mention of part 3 and no tab. If I make one with children again I will have to redesign the spiral. But it was a fun activity.
I work in the public library, this is going to be July's Take Home Craft. I'm incredibly excited to see how much the children enjoy it! Thanks!
My 4 year old granddaughters absolutely loved coloring and making them! Looking forward to crafting more with them!
This is a fun project! We loved watching them spin! I added extra beads! So cute!
The directions were a little vague for the tail section of the spinner. Over all the students enjoyed this activity.
